HPUX 11.23
HP Itanium Servers
This is installed on some of our HPUX boxes but was done by an engineer on setup, we now require this being setup on some new Itanium systems we have here.
Firstly;
How can I check if ISEE is installed, we connect through netscape on our other systems. Tried on this one as root and it does not recognise in /sbin/sh.
Secondly;
How can I install on our system if it isn't already? Are there any patch dependencies etc.....
Any help appreciated.
Chad

Re: ISEE Install
"swlist | grep -i isee" will tell you if ISEE has been installed or not.
If ISEE has not been installed, you can download software from:
http://software.hp.com
Before doing the installation, please review the Installation Guide: http://docs.hp.com/en/5990-8547/ln-d0e227.html
Patch listing and other requirements can be found in Appendix A (page 50) under: Preparing HP-UX Clients for Installation
Hope this helps,

Re: ISEE Install
This does not allow me to do this because of our firewall or proxy configuration I believe.
This is why I wanted to connect internally through unix using netscape.
Does anyone know how to install this?

Re: ISEE Install
A quick and dirty fix - plug a laptop into the segment to configure ISEE.
To install Netscape: It was available on one of the application cd's - don't know if it still is. use swinstall to install it
Just so you know, ISEE does need access through your firewall to work

Re: ISEE Install
Netscape is NOT required for ISEE to work. If you have ISEE installed on your HP-UX, make sure:
1. mad daemon is running
2. emsagent and emsListener are running.
3. Make usre port 80 on your Firewall is open for outbound traffic.
Then:
1. From your desktop, logon to the ISEE GUI on the HP-UX box: http://hostname:5060/start.html
2. Continue with the Configuration and Submit.
3. If you receive the next screen, fill in the Serial number, product number and Entitlement ID, submit again.
4. When you receive an email saying your Server is being monitored by HP, then you all all done.

Re: ISEE Install
As i explained previous I cannot access ISEE through IE as our PC's are on a different network as the HP servers and they are on a different network which site behind the firewall, however i found Mozilla on these boxes and ran Mozilla to open.
I enter the URL; http://ipaddress:5060/start.html
and I get a connection refused by host message. How do I activate the port on the host?
I can connect to already configured servers for ISEE without a problem.
Regards,
Chad

Re: ISEE Install
Chad
Check your isee log files on the server. They are in:
/var/opt/hpservices/log
