I have problems managing ICE Licenses in HP SIM 5.3.
It seems to be the same behavior as in Thread http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1378529
The HP SIM has not been installed from an ICE Media.
What do I have to do to get the License Management working.
Version Information of current installed SIM:
Build version: C.05.03.01.00
Build date: 2009-03-28 21:04

Re: Manage ICE License in SIM not installed from ICE Media
Is it possible to keep the config when uninstalling the current SIM and point the ICE Install to the existing Database?

Re: Manage ICE License in SIM not installed from ICE Media
I have built a separate Machine with HP SIM (VM) to test different Scenarios, and I think I found an easier way.
It is possible to run the ICE Suite Installer DVD (3.10) on a Server with an existing SIM. I Have chosen Custom Setup and only selected the following Components:
HP SMH (default)
WMI Mapper (default)
HP SIM (default)
Version Control Rep. Man. (default)
+HP Insight Software Services
+HP Insight Software Advisor
The Installer detects the existing SIM, "reuses" this Installation and adds the other Components.
Thereafter all Devices and Settings in SIM are kept alive and the Licensing is working correct.
