Manually starting ISEE on HP-UX 11.22U

Hello,

I'd like to know how to start ISEE from the CLI in case it does not come up on it's own. Right now I'm unable to get to the GUI http://ip:5060/start.html

A grep shows me that ISEE is not running even though it's in the crontab as

# Entry(s) in /opt/hpservices/RemoteSupport are for HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition
0 0 * * 1 /opt/hpservices/RemoteSupport/config/pruneIncidents.sh
03 12 * * 4 /opt/hpservices/contrib/SysInfo/bin/SysInfoRunMap.sh 1>> /var/opt/hpservices/contrib/SysInfo/adm/SysInfoRunMap.cronlog 2>&1 &

I've read that it may be necessary to bind port 5060 in etc/services is this necessary?

I ended up calling HP support and the answer is as follows:

/sbin/init.d/./hpservices start

Will start or stop ISEE.

Should you not want it to boot up at run time for whatever reason simply edit the /etc/rc.config.d/hpservices.conf and change START_TUNER=1 to 0 (zero)

Hope that saves someone the trouble of looking this up as it's not int he documentation anywhere.

your right, it is not documented. so you can start it like this. the resonsible process is the: mad process (if mad is running, isee is running). port 5060 is the port where you can connect to the agent via webbrowser. regards ms
