cms pe850 w2k3sp2
hpsim C.05.03.01.00 with hotfix 3-7
rsswm A.05.31.001
selecting "Options/Contract and Warranty Data Collection" gives the following message:
The Service Essentials Remote Support Pack client is either not installed or is a version older than is supported with the HP SIM contract and warranty gathering tool.
selecting "Remote Support Configuration and Services" shows the smh page of the local cms.
Start/
All Programs/
Hewlet-Packard/
Remote Support Software Manager/
only contains
"Uninstall Remote Support Software Manager"
and
"Remote Support Software Manager User Interface"
but no initialize that was btw run succesfully as part of the rsswm install
before the upgrade to the latest hotfixes and the latest version of rsswm it worked fine.
does anyone have pointers other than re-installing/downgrading the lot?
any help appreciated

Re: hpsim contract and warranty fails after install of rsswm 5.31
these were the steps to get it working again:
- uninstall rsp with uninstaller
- remove any remaining related components from controlpanel/add/remove software
- manually clean up registry with regedit looking for keywords like rsp, webes, etc
- re-run hpsim installer in custom mode and only select rsp
after this the Options/Remote Support Configuation and Services meny works again and does pick up eligible systems
