when I input this information in init the SPOP ,I got some error messages like below:
Not all of your data was valid, pls check your answers and try again.
An attempt to send a test e-mail to 134.192.4.68 on port 25 has failed.

Re: init SPOP failed

There are some workaround to install the SPOP as smtp server. This should however only been done to get the SPOP installed in a DMZ e.g. It's not straightforward.

You should remove the SMTP server afterwards!

Can you explain the reason why you are installing the smtp server on the SPOP?

Re: init SPOP failed

Hi,

Which one is 134.192.4.68? Is it your SMTP Server or this is the IP Address of your SPOP?

Try "telnet 134.192.4.68 25", do you get a welcome message?

The error you were getting is a "generic error", but the bottom line is the SPOP cannot send a Test Email to the recipient.

Hope this helps,

Re: init SPOP failed

Rambo,

I found from the other thread that 134.192.4.48 is your SPOP.

To turn on the SMTP server on the SPOP, complete the following steps before running the SPOP Initialization Utility
1. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
2. Double click Add/Remove Programs
3. Select Add Windows Components
4. Click Internet Information Services (IIS) and click details
5. Check the box for the SMTP Service
6. Click OK, click Next
7. Leave the default of Application server mode selected, click next
8. When prompted for the SP3 CD, select Browse, and go to C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386
9. Click finish
Note that when defining your SMTP server in the initialization, you will have to authenticate with the administrator username and password. After the init finishes, delete the logs from
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\ISEE\SPOP\IseeCore\log
as there is an outstanding issue about the passwords being logged.

That should let you continue with the Init.

Re: init SPOP failed

Hi,Liem Nguyen
I began to Registering the SPOP.
Select Start -->Programs -->Hewlett-Packard -->ISEE SPOP -->Register SPOP.
A DOS window appeared and started the SPOP Registration process .Generally speaking ,after the Registration process finished , a browser opens automatically ,but a error was detected
I checked the
C:\Program Files\Motive\Server\install\moss-ri>minstall.log ,some messages as below:

Re: init SPOP failed

Hi,
I tried to test the
https://isee.asiapac.hp.com:443/soapfe/soap
and it is ok to open the IE page and displayed these messages:
SOAP Dispatch Servlet
While the SOAP protocol is not accessible via browser,
this page confirms you've reached the SOAP servlet
via a GET request.
I think the 443 port is ok .

Re: init SPOP failed

Hi Rambo,

1. Is your Proxy setting in IE the same as Proxy configured on the SPOP (spop.ans should have that info)?

2. When you try: https://isee.asiapac.hp.com/soapfe/soap, do you get the page right away or do you get some kind of authentication pop-up?

Please upload: spopconfig.log, MotservConfig.txt, server.log and spop.ans.

Re: init SPOP failed

I noticed that in your 'hosts' file

isee.asiapac.hp.com is written as
isee.asis..........
