I have a rx4640 server with Itanium dual core processors.
These pocessors are 1.1 GHz i wanted to know if i can upgrade the cpus to 1.6 GHz and will that help increase the performance of the system.

Solution1.6GHz dual core is likely a montecito, you can install them into a rx4640 (firmware upgrade and OS patches may be needed).

While the _current_ crop of 1.6 GHz CPUs are dual-core "Montecito" (aka Itanium2 9XXX) there were "Madison" single core CPUs running at 1.6 GHz as well. To make matters even better I think we have 1.6 GHz single-core Montecitos too :)
WRT pricing, the thing to do is contact an HP Reseller or Sales Rep.
