CAN'T GET O/S TO LOAD ON RX2660

Hello,

I am trying to laod HP-UX 11i V3 March 2008 ON MY RX2660 via the DVD drive and have not had any luck..

It autoboots and starts as if it is loading then defaults to " console is on a serial and you can not view any further information on this device "

I have it hooked up to an HP monitor / VGA

I also have a blinking light ( AMBER ) on the system health LED.

Any ideas?

Re: CAN'T GET O/S TO LOAD ON RX2660

If you have the VGA connected and you see the "console is on a serial" stuff, sounds like it is telling you to either connect a serial console and do the install that way (or telnet/ssh to the MP and do a "co") or connect a serial console and go to EFI and change the console setting to be VGA+usb for the keyboard and mouse.

The specifics about all that sort of stuff should be somewhere in one of the rx2660 manuals under http://docs.hp.com/
there is no rest for the wicked yet the virtuous have no pillows

I'd echo what Rick said, specifically, read this:

http://docs.hp.com/en/AB419-9005A/AB419-9005A.pdf

and this:
