Can I install RedHat Linux on Blade BL860i2????

Please help me, I want to buy a server BL860i2, but HP says "Linux it´s not supported in i2", but Intel says "Itanium 2 it´s suported for linux".

I have the hope, that anyone installed linux on Itanium 2...

I don't think i2 is Itanium 2. In this case i2 is tukwila and what does RedHat say about it?

In terms of the general market, RedHat, Canonical and Microsoft have announced In retirement plans for their respective RHEL, Ubuntu and Windows Server products for the Intel Itanium series processors.

There are Linux distributions that do support Itanium, though you'll want to specifically determine which Linux distributions of interest have implemented support for the Itanium 9300 series "Tukwila" quad-core processors used in the i2-series HP products.

HP have announced that "HP is not planning to certify or support any Linux distribution on the new Integrity servers based on the Intel Itanium processor 9300 series" per"

BL860c i2 is a new series of Blades with 4 Core Itanium Processors.

As of now only HPUX and Open VMS and Windows 2008 Itanium versions only supported.

If you wish to use Linux on Itanium, I think you can opt for BL860c which supports both Redhat and SuSE.

the IA64 Windows 2008 R2 release does not support the Hyper-V role. You need the x64 Windows 2008 R2 version for that functionality and run it on a x64 platform, not IA64.
