Can't get Serial Number on ia64 hp server BL860c

Hi,

I have two servers without Serial number. I used following command and got nothing return:
1. machinfo | grep "machine serial"
2. getconf MACHINE_SERIAL
3. echo "sel path system\ninfolog\nexit"|cstm|grep "System Serial"
4. getsn
PDC Call to PDC_MODEL/PDC_MODEL_GET_PLAT_INFO failed with status 0.
This system or PDC version may not support this PDC call.Serial Number: Not Available

model is BL860C
OS version is 11.23
uname -a
HP-UX XXXXX B.11.23 U ia64 4294967295 unlimited-user license

I don't know where is machine is, no MP connected.

Given these information, what else I can do to resolve the S/N issue?

What is the actual output of 'machinfo' ?

Did you try
# machinfo | grep "machine serial"

or may be cstm
cstm> map
cstm> sel dev 1
cstm> info
cstm> il

If none of them work I assume your firmware has some issues.
