Cannot install Windows 2003 Ent. Ed. IA64 on RX3600 Integrity machine

HI!

I ve downloaded Smart Setup CD 4.5 ISO Image file from HP. Then followed instructions from
http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-3698/5991-3698.pdf how to install Windows 2003 ...

1) Put Smart Setup CD
2) Select Express Install
3) Specify ESP + HPSP + MSR
4) Install Drive explorer utility
5) Put Windows installation CD
6) CANNOT FIND ANY DISK TO INSTALL TO????
7) F3 Quit Setup

and everything starts all over again :((

I tried with F6 to select RAID controller but dont have floppy of course ...
I got 4 proccessors and 12GB RAM with 6 SCSI DIsks each 74GB

Any ideas how to install W2K3 Ent. Ed. on this rx3600 machine?

execute setupldr

You obviously didn't understand me well ...

I can manage to boot Windows 2003 after Smart Setup CD ...but after it copies all required files from CD after a while it prompts me to select on which disk to install it ...but none of 6 disks are shown ... after i press S "specify device" nothing is shown accept some DELL's raid controllers which are unusable for my issue ...

the manual says:

If the server is using Microsoft® Windows®, continue as follows:
1. Load the controller driver from EBSU on the Smart Setup media. (To load
the driver, select Load OEM Boot Drivers at the appropriate point in
EBSU. For more information about Smart Setup, refer to the HP Smart Setup
Guide on the Smart Setup media.)
2. Run Express Setup.
3. When you have finished installing the operating system as directed during
the Express Setup procedure, remove the operating system CD and insert the
Smart Setup media.
4. Install the Integrity Support Pack ("Installing device drivers and
Management Agents" on page 19).
Controller installation is complete.

You probably need to configure the array.

Hi there!

I tried all you suggested ... but unsuccessful ...

I figured out that i might have missing the efi driver for my LSI LOGIC SAS3080X-HP

But i cannot find efi drivers and instructions for installing drivers on EFI ...

Can someone help me with useful advice were i can download drivers and installation instructions for SAS3080X-HP ?

I ftp-ed ipfsas.efi driver to EFI ...
THen:
load ipfsas.efi

Succedd ... but i cannot still "see" available SAS on SMartCD to configure it :((

ANy ideas?

Hi,
I tried this when I installed Windows 2003 Ent Ed IA64 on rx4640. Might work for you also. Create the partitions first using diskpart.


3 partitions needed for Windows
a. EFI System Partition (Fat Format)
b. Microsoft Reserved Partition -windows diagnostics
c. Standard partition for the OS (NTFS format)


1. Insert Win 2003 Ent Ed (64bit)
2. Choose EFI from Boot Option
3. At the Shell> prompt, change to the file system on the CD-ROM.
Ex: fs0:
4.Type setupldr from the fs0:> prompt to boot the installation program

Jeff, if i select to boot from CD did autoboot run setupldr itself? Why would i want to go to efi and "manualy" run setupldr? IS there a difference?
