Configure ILO on rx2620

Hi

We have a couple of rx2620 servers.
We have the IP address for the servers.
However we do not know the IP address for the ILO , and the machines are at a different geograhic location. Is it possible to configure the ILO remotely. Or do we have to be present near the machine to configure the IP address for ILO.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

Re: Configure ILO on rx2620

Here is the manual

http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-5984/5991-5984.pdf

You need a connection from a PC / Server which in the same segment as the rx2660 before you can modify the basic configuration

Re: Configure ILO on rx2620

The default setting for the iLO/MP is to use DHCP. The name is mp+MAC, e.c.
mp123456789ab
(written on a sticker).
To change the settings (if DHCP is not available), you should use a serial connection and a terminal emulation to log onto the MP.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Configure ILO on rx2620

Shalom,

Someone is going to have to walk up to the console of the machine, boot them, press F8 to get into iLo and get you the IP address informaiton.

There is no way to remotely access iLo without knowing the IP address.

If you have remote console access, then you may be able to ctrl-b into management console, but I doubt it.

This newer system uses iLo just like DL class boxes. We walk up to the console to do this configuration. After that we are good for remote management.

Re: Configure ILO on rx2620

I am convinced that I have phone a friend to sort it out for me ( I mean to go to the console ). The ILO on our machine was earlier configured with some IP address, however no one is aware of that IP address, since then the machine has been moved a couple of times to a different subnet.

Bugger !!!

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Re: Configure ILO on rx2620

Steven - F8 is IIRC a ProLiantism for iLO. On the Integrities one uses ^B and the LC command from the CM> prompt.
