Cooling question

Hi ,

I have 4 HP rx2660 servers and 2 HP rx6660 servers installed in an HP rack (beginning with the rx6660 at the bottom) ,

i have 2 cisco switches 4948 that i want to install , i have install them at the top but from the back of the rack ... in that case can i have a cooling problem caused by these switches

thank you

Re: Cooling question

the servers should be installed right through to the back, so that there is no room for switches at the same level as them.

if this is right then you will be fine as the airflow flows from the front of server through it and out of the back of the servers.

Also make sure that the cables and network cables from the switches run down and are scured at the rear sides of the servers/rack.

thus keping as little at the back of the servers directly as possible, to allow the airflow out.
