Supports one IDE optical drive (CD/DVD)

SCSI controller Two Ultra 320 SCSI channels
One external SCSI port (rear panel):
â ¢ 68-pin standard, high density SCSI connector
â ¢ Must use cables designated as U320-capable with U320 devices
â ¢ 12 m maximum bus length
â ¢ SCSI ID:
â ¢may not use SCSI ID 2 when a drive is installed in internal bay 2
â ¢may use SCSI ID 2 for the external port if there is no drive in bay 2
â ¢ Termination:
â ¢must be terminated if there are devices attached
â ¢must not be terminated if no devices are attached (automatically
terminates if no devices are attached)
â ¢ Device support:
â ¢LVD devices
â ¢Legacy SE devices
â ¢SE, narrow devices

The DVD is IDE.

The controller on the baseboard is located at U6501, and is a Silicon Image SiL649C.

The controller connects to the DVD I/O board on J9006. The DVD itself connects directly to the DVD I/O board.

Prashanth and tim, thanks for your valuable information. As i said in earlier post i too confirmed, its an IDE device these days.
I am sure, in the exam question IDE was not an option to select. Now the question is, what answer HP expect other than IDE?

Hi,

IDE DVD is on models:
rx1600, rx1620, rx2600, rx2620, rx4640

SCSI SE narrow DVD is on models:
rx7620 and rx8620
Actually the SCSI controller is LVD Wide SCSI, but with DVD it runs with SE mode.

Zygmunt answer puts some more light. Now there is a possibility, the answer to the actual question is SE.
