Difference between 2 drives...

I have the following 2 HP drives:
AB420
A9896

The specs for both looks the same and they look to be the same.

They are both mounted to be able to plug into the RX2600 & RX2620 servers. The AB420 works, the A9896 is identified but can't be initialized by the server.

What is the difference between the drives and where does the A9896 work?

Re: Difference between 2 drives...

Why does the A9896 work in the RX2600/RX2620 then?

Re: Difference between 2 drives...

What does it mean "... can't be initialized by the server." ???

What did you do? What did you see? Exact commands and results?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Difference between 2 drives...

It identifies the position on the SCSI bus, the manufacturer, name, and size on the first line.
It then print "Cannot initialize SCSI Device"

I should also say that I choose the following commands:

Boot Configuration
Boot From File

It then "Searching for Devices"

On the other RX2620, it displays the devices as part of the startup display.
