EFI on Integrity RX4640

Hi, we need to check the EFI version on an Integrity RX4640. Can we do this from VMS 8.2 or does it need to be done from the management port (MP). We have been advised to do this for an EVA 8000 XCS upgrade from 6.0 to 6.2.
If we need to upgrade is this done by MP and can it be done without downtime.
Thanks

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

I don't know how to do this from this OS, but log on to the MP, switch to CM menu and run sysrev.

MP:CM> sysrev

Latest version is

Current firmware revisions

MP FW : E.03.32
BMC FW : 04.06
EFI FW : 05.48
System FW : 04.29

VERSION: System FW 04.29, BMC FW 04.06, iLO MP FW E.03.32 and U160 SCSI EFI Boot Services Driver 01.04.01.00

see

Hope this helps!

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

Torsten,
thanks for that, worked exectly as you said it would. I'm not paticulary clear about what I'm checking though.
We have these current installed versions
MP FW: E.03.15
BMC FW: 03.52
EFI FW: 03.14
System FW: 03.17

and the versions from the curent release on internet seem to be
MP FW : E.03.32
BMC FW : 04.06
EFI FW : 05.48
System FW : 04.29

From the EVA connectivity notes on page 5 it lists OS Ver min
OpenVMS 8.2-1 and higher
EFI: 1.50

As the servers have not been upgraded in 2 years it seems unlikley that we are in excess of the min EFI (1.5) version by so much.

Can you shed some light on this.
Torsten.

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

This is something different - it is the version of the EFI **DRIVER** located directly on the HBA cards!

Anyway, to run current system firmware is always good.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

The card is a isp2312 (A6826A)
How do I check the current version EFI driver?

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

Watch the console while the system is doing the selftests - you will see a similar output:

HP PCI-X 1Port 4Gb FC Combo Adapter (driver 1.09, firmware 4.00.090)

Hope this helps!

Re: EFI on Integrity RX4640

Is there a way to check this with out rebooting. Unfortunately we have a 24/7 production environment.
