ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

Hi I have a rx7640 server with these fpl events, and I was wondering what does HKP mean, I have seen before AC_UNDERVOLTAGE, but not with HKP, the ps output from the mp looks ok.

Where else can I look?, thanks

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

Housekeeping power.
Check the components with "ps" from MP.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

And when it refers to house-keeping power what does it mean?

it all looks ok from the ps output on the components:

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

but i thought you get a message of AC_UNDERVOLTAGE.

because although it doesn't have one AC power connected it seems it has enough power:

Total Power Available 5400 VA
Total Power Needed 1644 VA
Power Redundancy : redundant
Power Viability : viable

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

You will agree the output you posted is unreadable ...

However, the command "pwrgrd" will configure what input lines are expected to have power.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

MP:CM> pwrgrd

The current power configuration is: Single grid

Power grid configuration preference.

1. Single grid
2. Dual grid

I have uploaded the output of the ps command, so it can be read better.

Thanks

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

Your system is setup for single grid, fix the missing power issue and you can also use cstm (if the system is up) to check the power configuration and status.

Housekeeping Voltage (48V) when the system is not powered on but still has AC connected to it.

If you still see these errors, in addition to the PS checks, check the FRU status with DF and dump all device frus and also check all other devices with the CM command DE for detailed information on power status of certain specific components.

MP:CM> DE

Re: ERROR --> Event keyword: HKP_UNDERVOLTAGE

Hold on though...HKP voltage is *not* referring to 48V. 48V is active when the cabinet is fully powered on. HKP voltage is typically 3.3V, 12V, etc and the voltage present when the system is in standby mode.

I dont see anything apparant in the PS output. You say you seen these events in the FPL log? Could you post those logs? Use the "t" key to view the logs in text mode.

@BOB:

Re:48V....

That should have been (no 48V)...

Yes you are correct and thanks for clarifying my goof!
