Error when adding a cell to a SD64

Hy,

When adding a new cell to a npar, i am getting these errors.

On the console:

Validating fPars configuration ... Complete
Complete
Verifying sram malloc sanity ... Complete
Verifying registry sanity ... Complete
Verifying device tree sanity ... Complete
Verifying ACPI configuration consistency ... Complete
Verifying partitioning mode consistency ... ERROR
Verifying IO configuration consistency ... Complete

Firmware detected a configuration mismatch. The partition will be reset.

on the system event log from the mp:

47815 SFW 0,6,0 2 43801cdd60e01a0d 000000000000000d FPARS_MODE_MISMATCH

47814 03/02/2009 15:23:30

and the firmware versions are the same:

0, 6 | 009.022.000 i | 005.024.000 i | 023.003.040 | 023.003.030 |

1, 5 | 009.022.000 i | 009.022.000 i | 023.003.040 | 023.003.040 |

Re: Error when adding a cell to a SD64

Hi,

Does HP done the scan test, cpudiag when they put the cell? Maybe it could help to show what's happening with this issue.

Re: Error when adding a cell to a SD64

I assume it is an Integrity - is vPars running there?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Error when adding a cell to a SD64

Hi,

Looking at the above output of your firmware versions, it would appear that they are NOT the same IFP SYS FW.
Look carefully.

Re: Error when adding a cell to a SD64

I now where you where going Torsten, and it's right on spot as allways.

This npar has vpars, and I needed after shutdown -R -H from the vpars, a full boot in npars mode, I only has done it up to de efi.

Everything working fine now

Re: Error when adding a cell to a SD64

OK, if you *try* to boot the nPar in vPars mode after changing anything (add a cell or CPU) the system will tell you you need to boot in nPars mode to apply the change.

The vPars manual says, you need to do a full boot into nPars mode, because the kernel will write the new information.

Regarding the firmware:

The active versions are the same - this is enough.

There is already a newer version with IPF FW 009.048.000, BTW.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
