Dear All,
I would like to know if I can additional CPU to RX2660 server. If yes then what is the maximum limit ?
Also, the server currently has 16 GB RAM. Can you please let me know how many additional RAM is supported by the H/W and in general how many slots are available.
Sorry but this is a very generic question since I do not have access to my environment at this time so I am unaware of my server configuration.
Thanks
Mangalam

Re: Expanding RX2660 Capacity
There are two ZIF sockets available for processor installation.
This system has 8 memory slots and you can install 8 x 4GB = 32GB maximum memory.

Re: Expanding RX2660 Capacity
Thanks Dave for you
For RAM, it is clear. However for CPU, I am still confused. I read in Wiki "The 2U rx2660 server is based on the zx2 chipset and has support for one or two 1.6 GHz Montvale or 1.42/1.66 GHz Montvale CPUs"
Does it imply I can have a maximum of 2 CPU only in RX 2660 server ?

Why ask here when mr google can tell you:
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/integrity/us/en/entry-class/rx2660-specifications.html
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00857320
It says you can have 4 cores, with 32 Gb.

Re: Expanding rx2660 Capacity
Thanks a lot. I just did that a few mins back and got the answers to my questions.
Thanks again for your time...
Also just to re-confirm i believe the CPUs are hot swappable. Correct ?

If you are happy with the answers, please assign kudos.

I see "hot" mentioned with fans and storage, not CPU sockets.

Re: Expanding rx2660 Capacity
According to the User/Service Guide the Server must be powered off to replace or add a CPU.
