Failed disk in IR volume on rx6600

I've a failed disk in an IR volume on an rx6600 (HP-UX 11.23). sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd0 -q raid shows:

Participating Physical Drive(s) :

SAS Address Enc Bay Size(MB) Type State

0x5000c500057ebf65 1 2 140014 PRIMARY ONLINE
0x5000c500057e5685 1 1 140014 SECONDARY FAILED

A very silly question but I can't find a specific answer - will hot swapping the failed drive be sufficient to rebuild the Secondary drive? Or do I need to use sasmgr in some way to fix it?

Many thanks
Adrian

Re: Failed disk in IR volume on rx6600

I haven't tried this on an rx6600, but a similar IR drive in a blade server (BL860c) rebuilt itself as soon as it was replaced. You'll see the rebuild progress rate with the above sasmgr command.

Re: Failed disk in IR volume on rx6600

Swap the disk and try the sasmgr command again to check - you should see rebuilding.

Hope this helps!

Re: Failed disk in IR volume on rx6600

Thank you for the confirmation. I'll just have the drive swapped and let it do the rest.
