Firmware versions on AD194 fibre card

Have the HP requirements for this Card and the rx8640 Server, and it lists the required firmware as "2.0". Looking at the output below, the question is "which column does 2.0 need to appear in?" Also "where is the patch / firmware file for this software"?

Re: Firmware versions on AD194 fibre card

There is a new EFI driver:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=3365410&swItem=co-83145-1&prodNameId=3365414&swEnvOID=4001&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0

Hope this helps!

Are you saying that the "EFI Version" value is the value being referred to the documentation?

Re: Firmware versions on AD194 fibre card

This card has a RISC firmware, a BIOS (for interaction in a proliant server) and finally an EFI driver for OS access.

Best to update RISC firmware and EFI driver (I would do this offline from offline diagnostics CD).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

I would like to assign points to your responses but am not sure of the information I am recieving.

Can you please confirm if the required Version Level referred to in the documentation is for the bundle you linked to, or the EFI Version itself (or are they the same thing?)

Also do you know the path to drill down to these areas on the website, as I can search for this card and "efi driver" and get 30,000 hits.

Re: Firmware versions on AD194 fibre card

Get the current IPF offline diagnostics CD ISO image file from software.hp.com

You'll find the files in

\EFI\HP\TOOLS\IO_CARDS\FC4

Just run "update.nsh"

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
