HP IR volume

I was pushing ignite images to my new servers and seems like I have pushed the image to stand alone drive instead of the Hardware mirrored IR volume.

# sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd0 -q raid

disk 2 0/4/1/0.0.0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP IR Volume
/dev/dsk/c1t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0

My question is - can I mirror the current OS to the IR volume and then later drop off the mirror? Looking for a low risk solution. cannot take the system down. Don't have down time on this server. :( - Thanks in Advance.

Re: HP IR volume

This is your IR volume:

---------- LOGICAL DRIVE 5 ----------

Raid Level : RAID 1
Volume sas address : 0x4bc809b8443dba3
Device Special File : /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0

but you did install to

/dev/dsk/c1t0d0

If you have space enough, your plan (mirroring) should work.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP IR volume

Another possibility:

Use DRD and clone the existing vg00 to the IR volume (drd-clone), activate the clone and reboot - you are done.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP IR volume

I would appreciate any step by step information for mirroring. Will there be any differences for mirroring - mirroring from a regular disk to an IR Volume ?

Re: HP IR volume

See the appendix for mirroring an Integrity Server:
