Would like to find out whether Windows Server 2003 64-bit can be installed directly on the Integrity rx2660 server?
Otherwise, can it be run as a virtualized OS on HPUX?
Pls advise. TIA.

Re: HP Integrity rx2660 Server
HP-UX 11i v2 and v3 with HP Virtual Server Environment (choice of Mission-Critical, Enterprise, Technical Computing, or Foundation Operating Environment);
Microsoft├В┬о Windows├В┬о Server 2003, Enterprise and Datacenter Editions;
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5 and Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
OpenVMS v8.3 (choice of Mission Critical, Enterprise, or Foundation Operating Environment)
http://h20341.www2.hp.com/integrity/cache/452201-0-0-0-121.html
You can run hp-ux, linux and windows also inside a HPVM guest.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SolutionIA_64 Windows can be installed directly onto the rx2660 and can be installed as a virtual OS but only with HP-UX 11iv3 and the extra licenses for virtual servers.
Access to the console for IA_64 windows can be tricky using virtualisation.

Re: HP Integrity rx2660 Server
Thanks for all the helpful response. Real useful.
Now if I am going to install Windows 2003 IA64 on the integrity server, has anyone tried running VPC 2007 or Virtual Server on the Windows OS? So that I can install multiple Windows guest OSes.
From my understanding, VPC/VS can only run on Intel platform.
TIA.

Re: HP Integrity rx2660 Server
PC 2007 does not run on 64 bit Windows/Itanium :

Neither does virtual server

Virtual server also runs on AMD.

Re: HP Integrity rx2660 Server
I would pose the question why....
No need to answer but look at http://www.hp.com/go/vse
This will explain it all, although in marketing speak.
You do not need the full VSE (Virtual Server Env) only the engine.HP Integrity virtual machine. This is a SW license on top of HP-UX.
An answer to why will enable me to explain what can/could/should be done.
Yes I was part of HP's Reseller BPSA programme.
