Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

Hi Jim,

the rx2620 CANNOT run 11.11 (aka 11i v1), only 11iv2 and 11iv3.

What console are you using?

VGA? Serial?

You should check the console configuration.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Using VGA with a 19" P920 HP Monitor. The HP-UX V2 didn't work either though.

Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

Can you get the "console output device" screen?

Where is the "*"?

Check also for input and error device settings.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

Example:

EFI Boot Maintenance Manager ver 1.10 [14.57] Select the Console Output Device(s) Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(PcAnsi)Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100)Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(VtUtf8)Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(PcAnsi)Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100)Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(VtUtf8)* Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0)Acpi(HWP0003,400)/Pci(0|0) Save Settings to NVRAMExit

In this case, output device is VGA.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

Nothing at all comes up that is why I am perplexed. The NIC light on the front blinks there has to be something I am or am not doing. At forst I thought it was the server but I tried with all 4 and had the same results.

Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

cut'n'past did not work - bad formatting.

But you can see the "*" in the screenshot on this page:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-1978/ch04s01.html#cihgcffj

line
* Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0)

Hope this helps!

Re: HP RX2620 HP-UX 11i V1 / V2

If you can see nothing on VGA, try to connect to the serial line.
You can use a notebook + putty + null modem cable.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
