HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

I am getting an error on start up that says

" 4GB DIMM LOAD ERROR "

and the server will halt I'm positive that AB475A is for an rx2620 and I don't think the memory is bad is there something else that me be causing this error?

Re: HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

Check the servers firmware first:

MP:CM> sysrev

should be

Current firmware revisions

MP FW : E.03.32
BMC FW : 04.04
EFI FW : 05.48
System FW : 04.29

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

Actually I did just find that you must have 4.0 or higher for the 4GB DIMM's to work I downloaded it on a CD. Now I just have to figure out how to laod it on the rx2620 from the cd. ??

Re: HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

Please post your "sysrev"!

Get this file

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=447331&swItem=ux-58103-1&prodNameId=441910&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1

unpack it to an usb pen drive to transfer it to the system.

Read and follow the release notes!!!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

I'm trying bu i'm not sure how to get to the ILO MP Log in... Everything on the Console seems jumbled and out of align as if something is scrambled. I can get to the shell buit that's it and even then things don't look right.

Example:

" 1;33mShell > "

This is what the command looks like.

On the 3 x rp3440's I have the go right to MP I didn't think there would be too much of a difference between the two.

Re: HP RX2620 MEMORY ISSUE - AB475A

This is likely a terminal emulator problem - try putty!

Hope this helps!

You don't have it?

It's always good to have one, but it is not related to your problem.

Can you post result of

Shell> info all

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
