HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

I have a problem on my rx5670 machine, when i restored the configuration to default, the internal DVD drive is not available on the EFI Boot Menu, only EFI Shell and Confiration menus are available, i tried to run the command reconnect -r and map -r but still unsuccessful. Please help because i need to boot from CD.

Re: HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

Somewhere in the rom-based configuration utility (advanced section?) there is a switch to enable/disable the IDE adapter.
Enable it and reset system, it should detect the dvd, you may also have to configure the boot menu using explore.

Re: HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

Hi Phil,

The DVD Drive of RX5670 is connected to a 50pin SCSI Bus.

Re: HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

It *could* be a problem with the drives firmware. Did you try to cycle power?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

What happens when you enter "info io", or "devtree", or "map" in the efi shell?

Re: HP RX5670 EFI Boot Menu

When i run MAP only Device Mapping Table shows but no entries, but info io and devtree display the devices but i cant locate the DVD device.
