Re: HW RAID - SmartArray p400 Raid Controller

Shalom,

Boot the system from console.

Choose [F8] to go into the smart array utility.
This disk is in use, its your OS, don't touch it. If you have a spare, you should do a Raid 1 copy so your system can survive book disk failure.

sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG146BAAJB
/dev/dsk/c4t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0
/dev/dsk/c4t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0s1
/dev/dsk/c4t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c4t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0s3

All disks below this can be configured into the Raid 5 Array. I still recommend saving one disk to mirror the boot disk, but what do I know.

disk 2 0/4/1/0.0.0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG146BAAJB
/dev/dsk/c4t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t1d0
disk 3 0/4/1/0.0.0.2.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG146BAAJB
/dev/dsk/c4t2d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t2d0
disk 4 0/4/1/0.0.0.3.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG146BAAJB
/dev/dsk/c4t3d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t3d0

Re: HW RAID - SmartArray p400 Raid Controller

I see what is happening here. The P400 does NOT have any disks attached to it, that's why NO disks show up. The P400 path is on 0/6/0/0/0/0/1/0/0/0

You also have the built-in defauld SAS controller that is RAID capable. All the internal disks are attached to this controller. This controller and the disks are on path 0/4/1/0

Your boot disk is c4t0d0 and it is a single disk, it is NOT a mirrored pair.

Disk c4t4d0 is a mirrored pair (IR volume), but it is not be used for anything

Disks c4t1d0, c4t2d0 and c4t3d0 are single disks.

You should transfer the OS from c4t0d0 to the IR volume c4t4d0 by using an ignite tape.
