How do I take the cell board out of a rx7620?

I need o add some RAM to our rx7620- should be easy, but I can't find a doc that says how to remove the cell board and add the DIMMs. Is there a link on docs.hp.com with a hardware maintenance manual? Thanks.

Re: How do I take the cell board out of a rx7620?

hi chris,

rx7620 is a 2 cell system. More info are needed. You could have 2 npar with this box. If you have 2 npar, identify which npar you require for memory upgrade.

execute this and take note the output. It will show you details for every npar.
# parstatus -Av

refer this to shutdown npar.
http://docs.hp.com/en/A7027-96036/ch06s03.html

when complete, power off the cell. Use PE command in MP to power off.
Pull the server out and open the left cover. It should show you 2 cell boards.

take note on the cell location, Cell 0 (top), cell 1 (bottom). Take out desired cell.

Install the memory dimms and follow dimm rules. Refer this .
http://docs.hp.com/en/A7027-96037/ch01s02.html#bahihbca

slot back the cell boards and make sure the extraction level in locked position. If there are not in locked position, the cell wont power up.

Enter command DE to identify cell status.Select cell number and it shouLd show you like this:

Power status: 0x7c <12VSTBY RDY <-----

Then follow the 1st link i gave to start back the partition.
