How to i deactivate/activate processors(HP-UX 11.23)?

Hi All,
We have a 2 way rx2600 running HP-UX 11.23 and i am trying to run some tests which requires 1 of the CPU to be turned off.Is there a command i can use ( like "psradm")to do this?I can shutdown/startup this m/c at will.
Any input is appreciated.

Hi,

deconfiguring a CPU is only possible from the EFI

Shell> cpuconfig

PROCESSOR INFORMATION

Proc Arch Processor
CPU Speed Rev Model Family Rev State
--- ---------- ---- ----- ------ ---- -------------
0 900 MHz B3 0 31 0 Active
1 900 MHz B3 0 31 0 Active


Shell> cpuconfig [cpu] [on|off]

Thanks Robert.I was able to get to EFI and turn off CPU 1 using cpuconfig.I then reset the system and tried booting up and is failing with a error code "Alert Level 3" BOOT_CPU_FAILED.The system is now hung trying to reboot.Any thoughts or suggestions on what to do next ?

I would reconfigure the cpu and check the version of your firmware and EMS version.
