Re: How to power of the exact partition server?

You can either power of the nPar where the vPars are within (Partition) or the complete server (Complex). If you don't have an expansion cabinet, Cabinet and Complex are the same.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: How to power of the exact partition server?

HP-UX has 3 partitioning methods:

nPars where the cell boards in the system can be separated (or combined) into indivdual computers with dedicated card cages. Individual cell boards (nPars) can be powered off or on with the PC comand. The rx8640 can have up to four cell boards which may be completely separate or combined. nPars aren't referred to as virtual partitions.

vPars and Integrity Virtual Machine s (IVM)refers to software partitioning and these are not controlled by the PC comand. You stop and start a vPar parition with parmgr or the virtual console.

Re: How to power of the exact partition server?

Hi Aru,

As Bill updated....

You can power off/on the nPar using MP:CM>PC Command by selecting Partition.

For vPar/IVM youcan Start/Stop using the virtual console...
