I have one server - ia64 hp server rx7620
Its current firmware is :
Firmware revision = 001.022
FP SWA driver revision: 1.18
IPMI is supported on this system.
BMC version: v06.06
I have 8 CPUs installed on this server, but now it was showing only 2 CPUs,
I faced the same issue on another server some times before, then HP Suppport upgraded the firmware of that server.
Now I dont have HP Support.
This server is physically very far from me.
I can access this server using putty and I can get its console (MP- Prompt) using Cyclades Web Manager Login.
Please can me know can I upgrade its firmware from here (Means physically far from the server, but I have MP console login)?
If yes, How to upgrade it?
Please suggest
Thanks

Solutionfirst of all you should run and post a full output of
MP:CM> sysrev
to get all details about the current firmware.
You should near your system while upgrading, because you have probably to unplug the power from the box.
Anyway, I would recommend to contact HP and let them do the upgrade to prevent any damages and problems.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to upgrade the firmware?
The only time that I have upgraded the firmware is prior to an O/S upgrade, and a specific base level was required. In this instance the firmware was upgraded by way of a patch.
Have your tried searching the patch database, do you know what revision you want to go to ?

Re: How to upgrade the firmware?
It can be found here
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=de&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=447687&prodNameId=346366&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=pf-43300-1
Make sure you follow every step very, very carefully! Otherwise you may seriously damage your system. Anyway, I would recommend to contact HP and let them do the upgrade.
If this question is related to the CPUs in failed status in your other thread, I doubt if this problem will be solved by upgrading the firmware.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
