running hp-ux 11.23 that I am trying
to get ILO working. I did change the
core I/O board because I wanted the one
with VGA. I have read this doc over and over.
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-6005/5991-6005.pdf
when I go to https://mp
I get page cannot be displayed.
when I telnet to it I do get a MP login but
am unable to type anything in.
If I use putty and telnet to it in raw mode
again I get the MP login and I can type the Admin
login but it never comes back with the password.
I can hook a serial cable to the console and my
laptop and hyperterm to it without any problem.
But I plan on taking this system offsite soon.
When I reboot and try to configure ILO I get:
Loading ILO Virtual Media
Load of ILO Virtual Media Failed: Not found
So I went ahead and upgraded the firmware with
rx3600_rx6600_4_03.depot But still no luck.
Currently the firmware revision is
F.02.11 Jul 13 2007
I can do both forward and reverse nslookups
on mpMacAddress and it resolves fine. I can
also ping it by name and IP.
Any input is welcome.
Thanks
Paul

Re: ILO on rx3600
I thing the secure connection does not work unless you configure it.
Your URL
https://mp
should be
http://mp
Do you have a DHCP server in the network?
From your PC (or where ever you work), do you get a result for
> nslookup mp
Better to configure a fixed IP address for the MP with
MP:CM> lc
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

I think you should again connect via serial and check the IP settings (mask and gateway) again.
Try from MP
MP:CM> ls
to check (and post result, if you want).
Try if you can ping from the MP:
MP:CM> xd
XD
Diagnostics Menu:
Non destructive tests:
P - Parameter checksum
I - I2C access (get BMC Device ID record)
L - LAN access (PING)
H - History
Destructive tests:
R - Restart MP
Enter menu item or [Q] to Quit: l
l
Enter IP Address:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SA
This command allows you to modify MP access configuration.
Current Set Access Configuration:
T - Telnet : Enabled
W - Web SSL : Enabled
H - SSH : Enabled
I - IPMI over LAN : Disabled
C - Command Mode : MP Menu
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
