Inactive Vpar

Here i have a npar with 2 vaprs ( hp-ux 11.31 and vpar 5.x ). all the cpus are assigned among the 2 vaprs.some of them are dynamic processor so i am able to remove it online from any of the vpars.

So my question is that i need a var with one processor for testing. Is it possible to create a vpar with out a cpu .when need to start the tst vpar i will remove a dynamic processor from any of the vpar and assign to the test vapr and power it off.after testing i will power off the test vpar and remove processor and will again assign to another vpar as dynamic.

Is it feasible pls advice me.

Re: Inactive Vpar

AFAIK 1 cpu is the minimum for a vpar. The system will reserve this cpu so you cannot assign it to another vPar, just to ensure you can start this vpar any time.

I don't think you can remove all CPU's from a vpar unless you delete the vpar.

Hope this helps!

no, minimum one cpu is required for creating a vpar.

For your 2nd question as Torsten said you need to delete the vpar and then assign CPU to other Vpar.
