Re: Install HPUX 11i v2 on RX2600 with internal RAID 5

I am going to try to install a tftp server on another system and give that a try. I read somewhere that you need to use a tftp server and not ftp

FTP not TFTP!

The fw should include a README!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Install HPUX 11i v2 on RX2600 with internal RAID 5

OK, I was finally able to ftp the updates from another workstation and then I did the E.03.32 Iso update so my system is updated to the following:
MP FW E.03.32
BMC FW 1.53
EFI FW 1.22
System FW 2.31
so I believe it is current, however I still see no drives when I try to install the OS.

When the EFI is loading I see "HP Smart Array 6400-128 controller (version 2.84) 1 logical drive ( I set this up with ORCA ). When I boot from the HPUX 11i v2 installation disk I see the following when it does an IO scan "Note: Primary path not currently set to an existing disk drive". Do I have to set the Primary Path to the logical drive from my Smart Array Controller some how?

When I see the "Welcome to the HP-UX installation/recovery process!" screen; in Hardware Summary Disks show up as 0 (0.0gb)

What step am I missing?

Do I need to do any loadfiles from recovery still?

Re: Install HPUX 11i v2 on RX2600 with internal RAID 5

Can you see the logical drive from EFI (devices, devtree)?

Can you see it when doing "scan hardware" in ignite screen?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

not sure exactly what I will see, but I did run scan hardware again from the Ignite screen and nothing changed.

I also ran devtree with the following result:
I see the Smart Array 6400 Controller but nothing about a logical drive
