Install SUSE 9 on rx2600 through MP
I want to install Linux SUSE 9 in rx2600 through the console MP.
In the EFI I have set the input/output device of the following form:
Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(PcAnsi)
Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100)
Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)
Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(VtUtf8)
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(PcAnsi)
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100)
* Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(VtUtf8)
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(2|0)
And when initiating the installation of Linux, I choose the option "Manual installation" and use: elilo linux "console=ttyS0"
I try with ttyS0, ttyS1, ttyS2, ttyS3.... but the exit goes away to the VGA and I do not see anything in the console.
Any idea?

Re: Install SUSE 9 on rx2600 through MP
I'm pretty sure the quotes are not necessary, and perhaps are not even desirable?
IIRC the console= stuff isn't required after a 2.6.10 kernel, so SLES 10 may not require it.

I begin the installation with Service Pack CDs.
