I recently installed a new RX6600 server, in the past I always mirrored my vg00 with lvm (2 internal disks). But it seems that there is now the possibility to mirror on HW level with RAID1. There was already an Intergrated Raid (Integrated Mirror) configured and I tried to verify the config, just to make sure that I do have a mirror ;)
[1] I did this via drvcfg -s XX XX and there I entered into the SAS adapter
[2] Raid properties provides me info about an IR vomule and shows 2 disks a Seconday and a Primary
So up to me, this config is ok and the OS should survive when I have one disk crash.
However, how will I get some notification about this disk crash? A red light will start blinking, but I do not want to check this every day ...

Solution
Its not abundantly clear whether the SAS driver has been integrated into EMS or not - I guess the only way to really find out is to pull a disk and see what happens.
You do have some command available from the OS for managing the SAS HBA
man sasmgr
for details
(I think its in /opt/sas/bin)
HTH

I am an HPE Employee
