Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Hi guys,
I have a rx2660 that has been running fine for the past month. The developer needed me to turn streampipes on which needs a reboot to take effect. However the machine never came backup. The machine does not make it to the EFI at all. I try looking at the console an it is blank.

After connecting to the MP I found that the Int. Health light is FLASH AMBER and gives me a Status of: "INT:Internal warning: Check logs and LEDs on QuickFind Panel"

I check the MP Event logs:
# Location|Alert| Encoded Field | Data Field | Keyword / Timestamp
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16 BMC *7 0x204C657EB0020150 FFFF036F00070300 BOOT_NOT_DETECTED

I have searched high and low to find what BOOT_NOT_DETECTED is.

I have tried shutting it down pulling the power cord letting it sit for a bit and then powering it back on with no luck.

I thought about looking into updating the firmware however all the docs say the MP->CM->FW command is for HP only.

Any suggestions or do I need to make a service call?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

This looks like a Hardware issue, mostly related to the processor. I don't think it happened due to any change in the settings.

Its better to log a call as further hardware diagnosis required in this case.

If you are allowed to open the system and interested to fix the issue by yourself, then try to boot up the system in minimum hardware configuration.

Also check the diagnostic panel of the server or the MP:CM> VDP command output to see if anything hardware fault is already detected.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Hi Scott,

Looks like u have some hardware issue on hand.

MP:CM>ps ==> Check bps or fan issues.
MP:CM>ss ==> Check if CPU's are okay.
MP:CM>sysrev
MP>SL ==> Select SEL and collect the complete output and attach
MP>SL ==> FPL and attach the file.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Prashanth,
Thanks for replying. I have attached the output of the commands you suggested. I did have one question running the MP> sl I wasn't sure about select SEL I included the output from the MP in the attached file. And I didn't seem to have that option under the SL menu or FPL.

Thanks again.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Hi Scott,

It's actually:

MP> SL > E (system event log)
MP> SL > F (forward progress log)

From the log file you posted it appears that you have a possible CPU, FSB, system module or firmware issue. Try reseating the CPU modules or place a hardware service call.

Hope this helps.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Hi Scott,

This is a HW issue and i say the most suspected part would be the System Board. Suggest you to get a HW case raised with HP if this is under contrac/warranty.

Re: Internal warning on a RX2660 after routine reboot

Hey guys,
Sorry for not getting back to this sooner, it was a hardware issue. Replace the Motherboard and it booted right back up.

Thanks for all your help.
