Re: Load of cdrom failed: Not found

Just to confirm, it is an ia64 cd with the efi modifications made, right?

Re: Load of cdrom failed: Not found

1. Check the file system mapping first to see if you can see any FS for the CDROM something like below.

fs1 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)/CDROM(Entry1)
blk5 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)/CDROM(Entry1)

If you see the only block device for ATA interface, try EFI command "reconnect -r". Or keep the CD media installed in the DVD drive and reset the system.

blk4 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)

If you could resolve the problem, please let us know how you resolved it.

Re: Load of cdrom failed: Not found

when you run the map -r or reconnect -r command, do you have any cd media loaded in the drive ?

EFI can only recognize FAt and FAT32 filesystems, so you need a special cd/dvd with dual partitioning on it like a Windows, LInux or HP-UX install cd or special cd's to setup/configure the Itanium based servers like SmartSetup for Windows or Linux.

Re: Load of cdrom failed: Not found

Yes,
I have a cd1 RHEL 3 (itanium).

4 four ago, I was reinstalling my server, but I interrupted the installation (wron FS), after that, I can see the cdrom from EFI Shell.

I have used map -r and reconnect -r with the cd1 loaded.

This server is in other location.

Thanks

Re: Load of cdrom failed: Not found

Dear,

Thanks for all... I am going to wait until tomorrow, because I dont have personal in the other site and I am thinking that cd1 was ejected.

Then, I will wait for any response.

Thanks so much.
