Load of internat bootable dvd failed on rx2660

Hi everyone,

I have problem.
I have a new server at work. It's a HP integrity rx2660 (itanium) with EFI.

We have our own install kits and i want to install it on the new server. If i try to do that i get the message: load of internal DVD failed: not found. Believe me, there is a cd inside(i also tried a dvd).
When i use an original cd/dvd of HP, it works.
Now you will think: his cd is just not bootable.
I tried the same cd and dvd on my laptop and it is booting from the cd/dvd!

i think the install cd is just not compatible with this server.

can anyone please tell me how to make this cd/dvd working on my new server?

thanks.

Install kits for what operating system?

That sounds about right. If it boots on an x86 type PC, then I seriously doubt the CD/DVD is compatible with the Itanium based server.

The Itanium servers require specific version of operating system (Windows, HP-UX or Linux).

If you don't have an OS specifically for Itanium it won't work on the server.

Or OpenVMS... indeed, I believe the assesment is correct - Guido has a DVD image for x86.

In the deep, dark, past of Itanium there was HW emulation of x86 and one could boot an x86 (32 bit) OS on the hardware, but that turned-out to be a non-starter and those gates were yanked from later processors in favor of SW emulation (just of x86 application binaries).
