I have an RX2600 with the MP firmware at 2.10.
I have downloaded the 2.26 update and placed in on another RX2600 on the network.
When I attempt to update the firmware I receive a message: "Could not find upgrade file set on source system"
I can ping the source machine from the MP, I can ftp to the source machine using the same user/password that I enter on the MP to upgrade. The source files are in the ftp users home directory and I can see in syslog that the ftp session is initiated and then closed..with no errors being reported.
What have I missed?
Bill

Re: MP firmware update
You can also install the firmware by installing a patch.

11.22 PHSS_30679

Re: MP firmware update
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that's the patch that started me on my current path. It would not install until I updated the firmware to rev 2.26. That appears to be a FTP only type of update and that's where I cuurently am, trying to get to 2.26 in order to get to 2.31.

Re: MP firmware update
Ok,
Could you check the files on the other rx2600.

Check the PATH (homedir) of the ftp user, you should not cd to an other directory.

Re: MP firmware update
I have grabbed all of that "low-hanging" fruit first thing. Checksums are fine and the files are in the ftp users home directory.
I couldn't find any info on permission/ownership so I have them set to owner/users and 755.
At least if syslog gave me some kind of error I could look for something!
Thanks.

SolutionFile Path:
Enter new value, or Q to Quit: /tmp/mitsuo/
/tmp/mitsuo/
Note: If you copied all files under the directly /tmp, the file path would be "/tmp" or "/tmp/". Try both.

Re: MP firmware update
That did it!
The instructions that came with the patch showed the patch appended to the path name, i.e. /pub/E0223. Once I removed the patch from the path, i.e. /home/bill, it worked just like it was supposed to.
I guess you shouldn't always 'RTFM'
Thanks!!!!

Re: MP firmware update
Firmware release note says as below.
Select the MP command XU. This command activates the upgrade mode. Update the MP firmware to the firmware image in the E0223
************
directory.
**********
MP:CM> xu -i 15.255.xxx.xxx -p /pub/E0223 -l anonymous
=======================
I assume it may be better this release note will have the output copy of the command "ls /pub/E0223" to prevent indentical problem. I will send a feedback message to the web master behalf of you.

Re: MP firmware update
Yes, that is the line that got me in trouble. It would appear that placing the package name in the path is incorrect.
Thanks again.
