MP unreachable on RX2620
I lost the password to the MP login so pressed the MP reset button to start from scratch. I'm now unable to access the MP, nor from a Terminal at 9600 nor from a direct connected pc. The Terminal is connected via the 8 pins console Y cable connector. The PC is connected via a switch and has ip address 192.168.1.2
I have no info on the Mac adress of the MP.
How should I get access?

Re: MP unreachable on RX2620
Thanks for your reply but this is a RX2620 which is a Itanium server and not PA-Risc.
I can press the MP reset button and press enter within 5 seconds but nothing happens.

Re: MP unreachable on RX2620
Setup a serial connection to the MP/ILO serial port using a 5184-1894 (HP RS-232C serial cable - 9-pin (F) to 9-pin (F)) with a putty or HyperTerminal serial connection with following configuration.
Speed (baud) 9600
Data bits 8
Stop bits 1
Parity None
Flow control XON/XOFF

Re: MP unreachable on RX2620
Thanks for the replies.
It looks like I first have to resolve the problem that I get no reply whatsoever from the serial connection. I use a original HP terminal and cable, which have worked before.
Maybe I'll have to wait until I can reboot the machine in a maintenance window so I can change the console settings.

Re: MP unreachable on RX2620
Finally the server was rebooted with a power off/power on, after which the terminal was resetted. Now I got the message "Press p to..." after pusing the MP reset button.
All works fine again now.
Thanks again for all your replies.
