Managment Processor(MP) console stays in booting kernel

While booting from Media first time it worked fine - Installed HP-UX 11.31 0709 and installed correctly after the reboot the MP console reads
"Console is on Serial Device - via PCDP
Booting kernel..."

stays for ever, so tried to re-install, so booted the OS using internal DVD, and no luck its stays in the same place

Please help

What's the model of the Integrity server you are dealing with?

Have you checked the Console, Input and Output devices selection in the Boot option maintenance menu?

Re: Managment Processor(MP) console stays in booting kernel

hi,

need more info about yr rx4640. Do you have graphic adapter installed?

if you do have it installed (usually in slot 8 - type ATI Radeon), can you interrupt the boot process and go to EFI menu and choose 'select the console output device(s)'.

I don't have a rx4640 here to check but my guess your graphic adapter will be :

Acpi(HWPxxxx,x00)/Pci(5|0)

Choose this and your console will be set to your graphic adapter.
