NPar limit on rx8620

I need some advice on partitioning an rx8620:

Is it possible to create 3 npars without an seu provided the I/O and memory requirements are satisfied.

Re: NPar limit on rx8620

Bob,

No, you need an SEU to go above 2 nPars, as every nPar needs to have an IO cage attached to it and the rx8620 only has 2 IO cages internally. The SEU gives you another 2 IO cages allowing you to go to 4 nPars. Have you thought about using vPars instead?

Re: NPar limit on rx8620

Thanks Duncan:

Yes, I have thought about vpars and it looks like the most cost effective and space saving option. What I'm doing is having 2 npars divided into a production server and the second into two Oracle qa instances and 1 oracle dev instance. I would then create a vpar and separate the qa and dev instances.

Again, thanks for the info.
