Re: Need CPU information on superdome

I know with machinfo command we can get Clock speed but what about core information. How to know whether it is single core or dual core etc...

Re: Need CPU information on superdome

The machinfo output will identify the CPU model. Then use this table of Itanium 2 CPU models to see the number of cores.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itanium_2#Released_processors

Alternatively, run "parstatus" and look at how many CPUs each cell has. Each cell has 4 physical CPU sockets, so if "parstatus" says the cell has 8 CPUs, then those must be 4 dual-core CPUs.

Please provide machinfo information.

Hope this helps!

Re: Need CPU information on superdome

This is dual core (Montvale) CPU.

The Intel series 9000 and 9100 are dual core, the 9300 series is quad-core (only for superdome 2).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Need CPU information on superdome

BTW, if you see this line from your previous output:

cab0,cell1 Active Base 8/0/8 40.0/0.0 - no yes 0

you see 8 cores per cell, but the cell has 4 slots - must be a dual core CPU.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Need CPU information on superdome

Hi,

FYI in case you need this too;

Here's the Superdome Quickspec that gives a nice overview:
