New 7640 - sharing the cdrom drive between partitions

Hi

Newbie to the rx's (& integrity's). I have manage to npar my 7640 into 2 paritions.

My problem is how can I share the cdrom drive between partition. My rereading of the documentation seems to imply I should have ordered 2 slim dvd drives 8((

You can not share the DVD drive between the 2 hard partitions (npars)at h/w level. If you want to have separate DVD drive for each partition, you should get another drive.

Note the DVD drive is hot-pluggable CRU.

DVD drives gets connected to the different cells through the core I/O cards. The h/w paths ( 1/0/0/3/1.2.0 & 0/0/0/3/1.2.0 ) of the drives shows/confirms the same.
