Not able to install OS when fiber cables are connected.....
I am trying to install OS on rx2620 server which already has HP-UX 11i v3 on it and when i am booting from DVD, it stops after detecting the install DVD. But if i remove the fiber channel cables i am able to install OS.
I tried many times but was not able to install OS while having the fiber channel cables connected to the server.
Can somebody please explain the reason for this ?

Re: Not able to install OS when fiber cables are connected.....
I think it will not stop, but the system scans the SAN - this may take a while, be patient.
Why not disconnect the cables while installing?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Not able to install OS when fiber cables are connected.....
I tried by removing the FC card and SCSI card i.e i tried by installing in minimum configuration. Then the installation was successful.
