PA RISC and Intergrity

Hi,

I have seen a specification recently in which PA RISC CPU was mentioned in a Intergrity server, Is that correct ? I had a opinion that only IA CPUs would be there in Integrity Servers.

Thanks and Regards

Bond.

Re: PA RISC and Intergrity

Hi Bond,

I dont think PA-RISC in a Integrity server. It is only for Itanium processor family.

Here is the link for Integrity family,

Re: PA RISC and Intergrity

Hi,

As far I understand , it should be Itanium based.

http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/integrity/index.html

Also, the PA-RISC based systems are given a generic name "HP 9000 servers".

Could you provide us with the link where PS-RISC was specified as a part of integrity server.

Let your effort be such, the very words to define it, by a layman - would sound like a "POETRY" ;)

Re: PA RISC and Intergrity

Hi,

its not mandatory, even PA 8900 CPUs can be there in integrity servers

Re: PA RISC and Intergrity

In order to avoid the reference you have seen causes confusion, for those HP servers that can have PA or IA (or both) their is only support for the 4 OS's (HP-UX, Windows, Linux, OPen VMS) on the IA based servers.

i.e. a Superdome can have a mixture of IA and PA CPU based cell boards inside the same chassis but obviously only UX will run on the partitions with the PA cell boards.

Re: PA RISC and Intergrity

Hi,

Mainly you can clasify rp servers as PA and rx servers as Itanium based servers.
