PCIe SAS SmartArray P400 RAID Controller

Hi,

I have one server rx2660 with one PCIe SAS SmartArray P400 RAID Controller, and two discs, but I only can see one on the ioscan.
One disc in on slot 7 and one on slot 8.

Do I have to configure something?

Hi,

HP LOGICAL VOLUME is not a disk, its a lun.

The disk/lun configuration of a p400 smart array controller can be checked with the command

# sautil /dev/cissX -s

f.e.
# sautil /dev/ciss0 -s

im facing kind of same problem, can't create RAID with my smart array. here the 'sautil' output :

Yes, the only lun is in hardware mirror configured.

lun 0 is part of a raidgroup which consists of 2 internal disks. The raidgroup is configured in raid 1+0, which normally means mirroring+striping over 2 or more mirrored pairs, http://docs.hp.com/en/J6173-90007/J6173-90007.pdf, but when the raidgroup as in this case, only consists of 2 disks, i.e. 1 mirrored pair, only (hardware) mirroring "is done".

You mean the p410i was configured in hba mode and a lot of updating, had to be done, to get it in raid mode.

But keep in mind, P400 and p410i are totally different!
