Power Converter 1 and 3 Failed on an rx7640

Hi,
After I installed HP IMA and SMH, I logged into the web page and I found a "Power Converter" Failure in the system tab.
I thought the problem is related to the server, but I have the same issue on 3 other servers (also rx7640).
Can you please tell me what is the problem and what should I do to resolve it ? (I see no anomalies on the server's led and the server is working fine)
Thanks.

Re: Power Converter 1 and 3 Failed on an rx7640

Do you have four active AC lines going to the server? Only two are required, but you may see alerts if you in this configuration.

Not sure? Then access the system MP and enter the Command Mode and run the command PS. Enter option T and you will see your AC Line Status. Now run the command PWRGRD and see what power mode the system is set for (single or dual grid).

Another thing to check is the backplane as this has four VRM's named 0, 1, 2, and 3.

Run PS from the MP:CM> and enter select the backplane. Check on the status of VRM's here as well.

Re: Power Converter 1 and 3 Failed on an rx7640

Here is what I found:
Line A0 Present
Line A1 NOT PRESENT
Line B0 Presnt
Line B1 NOT PRESENT

and the power configuration is single grid

I also checked the VRM's, no faults found.

So that means that the server is running on two AC line (I will check pysicallly when I get there).
On solution of course is to have the two AC lines, but if I choose to remain in this configuration, is there any way to disable this error from SMH ?

Re: Power Converter 1 and 3 Failed on an rx7640

On two servers I found indeed that only two PS sources were pluggued, but not on the other two (on which I also have the same issue).
I was wondering if it's not an IMA issue, I will try to upgrede IMA, installed one is 3.8.

Anything else I can check ?

Re: Power Converter 1 and 3 Failed on an rx7640

I am not familiar with IMA (a Linux tie-in to SMH perhaps?). I did check my system and though its using 2 AC lines, I do not get any errors from SMH (I am running HPUX).

You could check system firmware though I did not see any fixes/enhancements relating to SMH.
