Recently I had to do a RAM upgrade, and it was recommended that I do a power cycle before the upgrade. When booting up the server after the power cycle (but before the RAM upgrade), one of the cell boards failed.
What is the purpose of doing a power cycle? and What can be the possible causes of the cell board failure?
Thanks in advance

Re: Power Cycle in Rx7620 server
My concern is not about this particular cell board that failed.
In general, are there errors and part failures that shows only after a power cycle.
Thanks in advance
