Problem with resetting password to default on MP

Hello!
Does anybody knows how to reset password on rx2620 to factory defaults? I've try to do it several times according documentation (pressing to RESET button for 4 seconds, and answering to question for change password in console). System said that password was changed, but Admin/Admin and Oper/Oper doesn't work. This problem occur after one of planned shutdowns of the server. Previously there was defauld passwords too.

Re: Problem with resetting password to default on MP

Hm, sounds unusual.

What terminal emulation do you use?

Some emulation modes can produce strange behaviour.

My best experience is to use putty (with a current version even for serial connections).

Hope this helps!

Re: Problem with resetting password to default on MP

Are you sure you are using capital "A" in the password for admin?

MP login: Admin
MP password: Admin

Just thought I'd put it out there...

I use minicom, and was trying to input credentials several times, so I'm sure password was typed properly.

Re: Problem with resetting password to default on MP

you must use the physical reset button to reset the MP.

See the picture on this web page:
http://docs.hp.com/en/AD117-9003A/ch02s02.html

The "10/100 Management LAN" connector, the VGA port and the "Console/Remote/UPS" connector exist only if the MP is installed.
The CTRL-B keystroke only works if you connect your console to the "Console/Remote/UPS" connector. If you connect to the "Console/Serial port A" connector, the CTRL-B keystroke will never work, whether the MP is installed or not.
Time has a wonderful way of weeding out the trivial
